Grab a cup of coffee and settle in for a long story of about River's Edge Cabinetry.  At its core, this is a love story.

It all started when Joe Foltz was about 14 years old and took a job building homes and custom cabinetry with a local contractor.  When he decided to retire, Joe faced a big decision: buy the business or find another job.  It wasn't an easy decision but Joe loves construction so at age 19 he bought the business and set up Joe Foltz Construction in a tiny shed in New York Mills.  It wasn't glamorous, but it was a start.

Around this same time, Joe met Tasha.  We'll spare you the details but these high school sweethearts love each other, and their relationship is the foundation of everything we do.  They got married in 2006 and started their life together.  While Joe built custom homes and cabinets, Tasha finished nursing school and took a job as a delivery room nurse.  Life flew by and their family has since grown to include four beautiful daughters they love dearly.

The business eventually outgrew the New York Mills location, so in 2008 Joe and Tasha took a leap of faith and built a dedicated fabrication shop near the Ottertail River.  Just like that, River's Edge Cabinetry was born.  We love the way this serene location inspires our team and influences our work.

Here is something a lot of people don't know about custom cabinetry: if you don't love it, you won't make it.  Custom cabinets are one of the main features of a dream home, which means they have to be perfect, and the process takes time.  That's why in 2014 with two growing businesses to run, Joe and Tasha took another leap of faith - Tasha left her lucrative nursing career and devoted herself to cabinetry full-time.  Thankfully, the good Lord provides.  Tasha loves cabinetry and our clients love working with her.  Business is booming since she came on board and it's now time for our next phase of expansion.

In May 2019, we opened a brand new showroom on Main Street in Perham.  Although humble by nature, we are excited to show off our work and we think you'll love the results.  We now offer much more than cabinetry including custom built-ins, countertops, fireplaces, windows and more.  This expansion has required another leap of faith, but as a company built on hard work and Christian values, we are confident the good Lord will see us through once again.

Please stop in and say hi.  We'd love to see you!

Our talented, experienced crew is vital to our success.

After graduating from Perham High School (where he took 4 years of cabinetry classes!) Jake got a degree in cabinetry, then spent the next 20 years building custom cabinets and trade show displays for some of the largest companies in the world.  This experience taught him how to build almost anything, using almost any material, and we are truly blessed to have him on our team.  Jake and his family live near Big Pine Lake in a home he finished using lumber from that very site.  Take one step inside and you'll see why we hired him on the spot.

Some men were born to work with their hands; Greg Meyer is one of those men.  He first joined our team in 2012 doing construction, but in his words "it's not detailed enough" so he moved over to the cabinetry side full-time about 5 years ago.  He's a highly skilled perfectionist with a sharp eye for design.  In other words, the perfect guy to outfit your dream home.  Come to think of it, the only bad thing we have to say about Greg is that he's a Packers fan!  Greg and his growing family have called Perham home for several years, and he's quickly become an indispensable member of our team.

It takes just the right amount of pressure to ensure a perfect finish.  Lucky for us, Kelly has been spraying, painting, and doing finishing work his entire career.  He's an expert under pressure!  He's the last guy to touch your cabinets before installation and we wouldn't have it any other way.  Away from work, Kelly is a full-time dad with two daughters.

When he's not installing cabinets or being Lead Foreman of Joe Foltz Construction, Nick likes to remodel houses with his talented wife.  Together they live in Perham with their two daughters.  He used to work at Pizza Ranch but we go there so often that one day he just followed us back to the job site.  Just kidding!  Nick has been with us for about six years.  He's a tireless worker and a valued member of our installation team.

Joshua came to us five years ago based on the recommendation of Mr. Skow at Perham High School, so we knew he'd be good.  A man of few words, he says you need two things to properly install cabinets: muscles and patience.  Joshua is known for his big smile and getting work done.  He just bought his first house and has already started improving it, of course!
